Abstract:
In order to identify the bacteroidal pathogen from the affected cattle in a cattle farm in Hebei province, a dominant bacteria was isolated from nasal cavity of sick cattle and identified as Moraxella lacunata by using conventional morphological observation, biochemical tests, bacteria 16S rDNA gene sequencing, pathogenicity test and drug sensitive test, demonstrating that the isolate 16S rDNA was 97.6% homologous to M.lacunata, named Mor QHD-1, which had certain pathogenicity to mice. The drug susceptibility tests showed that the isolate of Mor QHD-1 was sensitive to ampicillin, ciprofloxacin, amikacin, etc. but resistance to sulfamonomethoxine, compound sulfamethoxazole and sulfamethoxazole. The results of traditional Chinese medicine susceptibility test showed that the isolate of Mor QHD-1 was extremely sensitive to Caesalpinia sappan, Terminalia chebuLa, Prunus mume, Phellodendron amurense, Schisandra chinensis, Coptis chinensis and Galla chinensis; The minimum inhibitory concentration of Caesalpinia sappan, Terminalia chebuLa, Prunus mume, Phellodendron amurense, Schisandra chinensis, Coptis chinensis and Galla chinensis was ranged from 1.95mg/mL to 31.25mg/mL and the minimum bactericidal concentration of Caesalpinia sappan, Terminalia chebuLa, Prunus mume, Phellodendron amurense, Schisandra chinensis, Coptis chinensis and Galla chinensis was ranged from 3.91mg/mL to 62.5 mg/mL. In this study, a bovine M.lacunata was isolated for the first time in China,and the M.lacunata of Mor QHD-1 would facilitate further study of the pathogen mechanism, resistance mechanism and cross species transmission.
